got2b Smooth Operator (hair products)

I came across the smooth operator line from got2b over the holidays while I was at my father in laws home and spotted it on my step-mom in laws dresser. I asked her if I could use some and I haven't looked back since!!!! got2b's smooth operator collection consists of cashmere lotion, smoothing satin drops, and smoothing hairspray. What won me over automatically was the hairspray. I for one HATE the smell of chemicals in my hair ESPECIALLY the alcohol from hairspray! I gear towards great nourishing shampoos etc but when I used a styling balm, spray, or mousse....I tend to use VerySexy Victoria Secret hair products but now I'm incorporating this! The smoothing hairspray literally smells like SWEET TARTS!!!!! Not only is the scent amazing but the flexible hold and manageability of the product is wonderful! You can easily created the style you want w/ flex hold and no crunchy, hard, flaky mess!!!! I've been using this product since January and LOVE IT!!! Now about the cashmere lotion. Picture this....you take a small half of a dime size amount and work it into your roots to your tips....you comb it through and voila!....SMOOOOOOOTH BABY SOFT CASHMERE LOCKS!!! I have yet to try the satin drops and the guardian angel line from got2b but I assure you that if it's as good as the cashmere line...I'm SOLD!!!! :)

Maybelline FIT me! Cosmetic line Review

So earlier this week I had the pleasure to be asked by my college school mate to do a review on the new foundation she has been trying. Once I heard about it...I had to have it so I ran out to my local CVS and purchased the products. I purchased the foundation, concealer, and blush. I didn't choose to pick the powder because they did not have my shade. Here is how I feel about these products.....

The FIT me! Foundation:

This foundation claims to let your skin breathe, give you a flawless finish, long wear coverage, & easy blendability. So far...yes, it has done everything it claims to do but there are a couple of dislikes on my end. First of all, let's begin w/ the packaging. The bottle looks different & appealing until you twist open the cap. I do not like pour spout foundations. Frankly...they make a mess for me and are less likely to be controllable when pouring. I prefer a pump action bottle or a squeeze tube. Second, let's talk about the shades. I find that the shades come off a bit orange initially. I had to blend it quite a bit in order to get it to my skin tone. It eventually did but it took time to work the product into my skin. I would suggest you mix it w/ a lighter tinted moisturizer just to knock the color down a notch. With that being said...once you do get it blended and looking flawless...your skin does not feel the weight. You will feel great and even double check that you still have full coverage because the foundation is so incrediably light and airy. I wore my foundation for 12 hours without touch ups and before I went to bed it was still going strong as I went to wash my face. I'm pleased with it's coverage. I do recommend you carry blot papers or a transluscent powder in order to get rid of shine. All in all, it is a great product and I would recommend it. Retails for $7.99 (my shade is in 235)

Concealer:

The concealer is a WIN WIN! I have dark circles under my eyes and this concealer did away with that immediately. Blendable, light, perfect want in packaging, & long wearability! LOVE IT!

Retails for $6.99 (my shade is 25)

The Blush:

The blush is just as great as the concealer. The shade I bought was so beautiful on my skin it gave me a sunkissed glow/bronzy look w/a nice hint of baby pink undertones. The shimmer it gives off is not overwhelming and it is definitly an everyday wearable day or night blush. I do not like the small, flat blush brush that comes with the product, I'd rather have more product. Retails for $5.99 (my color is in medium nude)

Top 5 Drugstore Mascaras a Girl Should NEVER be Without ;)

Here are my TOP 5 lash enhancers if I could only pick five of my faves. I'll start from least fave to the best. :) Enjoy!

#5: To my left you will see an ultimate CLASSIC of a mascara. I don't know if you dolls remember but as for myself, growing up as a little girl who LOVED to get into her mothers makeup...I used to see this every single time within my mothers makeup vanity. Great Big Lash Mascara is best used when you want a more natural, defined, and subtle show stopping look while you bat those big beautiful peepers. It's brush is full with the classic bristels and it's pointed tip helps you define the inner corner lashes perfectly. For everyday DAYTIME wear...I highly recommend.

#4 Is Maybelline's Lash Stilleto
This beautiful Mascara is also great for an everyday look. It's a buildable mascara that lengthens, seperates, and creates a pattent leather sheen amongst your lashes that is stunning. The wand is very thin as well as the brush. It's very easy to use especially when getting into the inner corner of your eyes. I would recommend this mascara for day & night wear.
#3 is Cover Girls Lash Blast Mascara

This mascara is for total volume and thickness. If you want eye lashes that really stand out and pop! then this is the mascara to go to. I highly recommend this mascara for night wear. It's wand and brush are the only down side to the product. Although I love the quality of the brush...I HATE it's shape. Beware when using this brush tip because it has non. You can easily dab your inner eye area with a huge smudge of black if you are not careful. With that being said....the quality of what the mascara can do for your peepers is amazing! Bold Thick and Sultry.

#2 is The Falsies Mascara by Maybelline

I gotta be honest with you dolls. When I first purchased this mascara I was NOT excited about it but since I am a makeup artist, I decided to give it a fair shot and a 3 month trial. I know...I'm brutal. I must say that I had pegged this stick of wonders all wrong in the beginning. Once I used it daily, after about a week, I noticed how AMAZING my lashes were looking. At first, I thought it was false advertising...no pun intended. I didn't see how this mascara could really feather, fan, lengthen, seperate, and thicken my lashes enough to make them look as if they were false! All of a sudden I started getting compliments on my lashes on the daily. Beauties were asking me if I was wearing falsies! I LOVE and completely ADORE false lashes but I rarely ever wear them to school. I usually keep my falsies for a night out on the town or for photo shoots. Well, I became quite smitten with this mascara. It takes me about 3 coats to get them where I want in length, thickness, and show stopping lush! The wand is a flex wand and the brush is of medium width and curves in a spoon like shape to fit the shape of your lids. Easy to use in the inner corner of your eyes. If you already have naturally long lashes...watch out...this is going to blow your mind! If you have lashes that are smaller in length or thin...this will surely give them an OOMPH!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. Obsession. :)

DRUM ROLL PLEASE...................
#1 L'OREAL'S VOLUMINOUS MASCARA
I know I know....it's quite a hit on people's mascara list. Although I've tried to find other mascaras to knock it off it's pedistal over the past 10+ years it's been on the market...I cannot! This mascara is my "holy grail" in lash wear! It lengthening ability is AMAZING, it thickens without clumping, it fans out your lashes as if they have no boundaries, the wand is perfect size, and the brush is just right for ANY eye shape/size. This is my GO TO MASCARA for freelancing in makeup artistry. I use it more than any other on my brides, models, etc. This mascara is one of Kim Kardashians faves and of course her makeup artist Mario Dediavanovic RAVES ABOUT IT as we dolls have for many years. If you want a mascara that DOES IT ALL.....L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS IS THE CHOICE TO GO FOR!

Physician's Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer vs. Stila Tinted Moisurizer

THIS is a girls best friend during this extreme summer heat! I found physicians formula TM as I was skimming the drug store makeup aisles for a facial base that had a high spf. I wanted something I could blend into my face quickly, set with a transluscent powder and head out to the pool. This has by far been my favorite! I give the spf50 two thumbs up for great protection from the suns uva and uvb rays. Unlike other "tinted moisturizers" PF wears well all day and evens out your skin tone to give you a light weight coverage that holds true. When I know that I need to wear a full coverage foundation I mix in one pump of PFTM just to make my full coverage foundation a bit smoother and to have the added SPF. I used this on a bride recently as I mixed it in with the MAC studio finish foundation in order to give her a great protection all over her face since she was having an outdoor wedding and the all time high for the day was to be over 100 degrees. She raved about the coverage and the moisture that enhanced her foundation. Mixing it or taking it solo, either way, this product really gives you everything that a TM should provide. It has a pump which is convenient and is in a bright orange summeresque tube, great for the beach bag, and retails from $9.99-13.99 depending on where you are buying it from. All in all...a great product.

The next product I want to touch upon is the Stila SPF 15 tinted sheer moisturizer. This product has created mixed emotions for me. The spf is a little low for something that you want to let stand on its own on those days you are not wanting heavy full coverage wear. I'm not sure what the purpose of a "sheer" tm is, it seems it may only work for those with flawless skin which is ok but for those of us with imperfections which consists of 99.9% of the population, we want something with at least a little coverage to even out those imperfections to make us look flawless. One thing I do like about Stila TM is that it provides a nice glow to your skin which can create a bit of radiance to your complextion if mixed in with the right foundation. I have resorted to using it as a mixing medium with other foundation to make that combination. It comes in a squeeze like tube and retails for $29.00-36.00. All in all I wouldn't recommend this as much as the Physicians Formula solely on the quality you get for the price.

EOS Lip Balms

So I'm in Walgreen's yesterday looking for all the rave on YOUTUBE.com which is the EOS Lip Balms. I finally spot them on aisle 9 on a an end cap and I notice there are only two of the three flavors on the rack. I quickly grab the two which are Tutti Fruitti and HOneydew MElon. Usually it takes me time to use a product and review after a long span of time has passed so that I can give it a thumbs up or down. This product is quick and to the point! The smell of the products is pleasing. Very true to what the flavor is on the package. I liked the honeydew flavor the best. They are small round little spheres that you twist in order to come in contact with the product as seen in the pic i've posted. Once I applied the balm to my lips, I had to reapply several times in order to get the moisture that I wanted. After doing this, I put the lip balm in my purse and went about my day to see how long it would take to reapply the product. After about 30minutes I reapplied it again. One thing that I noticed about this product is that it's difficult to apply while using a lip color unlike many other smooth lip balms. That for me was a negative. Also, although I like the cute packaging in the sphere, you can't just pop into your pocket like you would a tube like balm. That also was inconvenient for me. Above all I think I would buy it again and keep it on my sink counter as a morning moisturizer at best. The smells are so fresh and delightful that on that pro alone I'll buy it again. BUT if you are looking for something to carry with you everywhere that will give you ultimate moisture...this may not be it.
